Angler Serpent

This project has been a lot of fun for me. Working on world-building for our D&D homebrew, we decided we needed some more creatures, and I was immediately inspired to create this.

The Angler Serpent lives in the seas that surround an isolationist island nation that is surrounded by an enchanted fog. The serpent is clear as glass, much like certain deep-sea fish, and the bioluminescent strips at its side and the lantern that dangles from its head mimic the look of landfall for ships lost in the fog, luring them to their doom.
